The Ockendon Report on maternity in Nottingham \n2 The Amos National report on maternity (Final Reports – National Maternity and Neonatal Investigation) \nDate: Monday\, 27 July 2026 at 7pm \nLocation: Online\, via Zoom \nZoom meeting link (no need to register in advance) \nFurther information:\nThese reports could lead to a fundamental reset for the better in maternity services\, or they could be another in a lengthy list of reports that had little or no effect. \nEveryone with an opinion on this or who just wants to hear more\, is welcome. You are welcome even if you have not had time to study the reports. \nIMPORTANT: Please take care when reading the reports especially if you yourselves or close family members have direct experience of loss or injury from poor maternity care. Both reports are deeply upsetting and necessarily long and complex. Our campaign had copies of Ockendon printed because of how complex it is to study on the phone or tablet. \nWe need to hear each other’s responses\, how it reflects our own\, our families’ and our colleagues’ experiences. We need to hear what campaigns have done or what they might do on this issue and how we can bring maximum pressure to bear to create lasting positive change. \nWomen have won big struggles for maternity rights in the past and seen positive changes. We can do so again if we can mobilise our forces. \nThis meeting will not be the only response\, nor will it be a final one. It is a chance for us all to hear different experiences and different responses to the reports so our responses can have more power.

DESCRIPTION:Photographic exhibition\nRegister now \nBackground:\nThis photographic exhibition is designed to travel and to be available to local groups to borrow for use as a focus for a local event on SubCos and/or as an exhibition that continues over a few days or weeks. \nFor example\, Leeds KONP are borrowing the exhibition for an event in a community centre and will keep it on show from Wednesday 21 January – Thursday 12 February 2026. \nLondon launch:\nThis event on 18 February is a one off event to publicise the exhibition and the issues it raises\, and to let you how your local group can borrow it. \n\nCome along to find out why NHS SubCos have been so damaging to NHS staff.\nHear from our speakers about how SubCos may lead to even more privatisation of the NHS.\nMeet with other campaigners and see how your local group or branch can borrow the exhibition to raise the implications of SubCos locally.\n\nNHS Trusts are being pushed to set up subsidiary companies (SubCos) with the aim of saving money. A wide range of NHS staff and services\, along with NHS hospitals and other assets\, are being transferred from NHS Trusts to these private companies.   \nThis travelling photographic exhibition\, with its accompanying booklet based on extensive research\, details the serious concerns raised by the use of NHS SubCos. It also shows how some SubCos have been successfully resisted by unions’ and local campaigners’ action.  \nThe London launch of the exhibition will take place at St Anne’s Church\, 55 Dean St. Soho\,  London\, W1D 6AF on 18th February 2026\, 6.30 – 8.30 pm\, sponsored by  Keep Our NHS Public and Socialist Health Association.
