SUMMARY:Photographic exhibition launch | How come we didn't know about NHS SubCos?
DESCRIPTION:Photographic exhibition\nRegister now \nBackground:\nThis photographic exhibition is designed to travel and to be available to local groups to borrow for use as a focus for a local event on SubCos and/or as an exhibition that continues over a few days or weeks. \nFor example\, Leeds KONP are borrowing the exhibition for an event in a community centre and will keep it on show from Wednesday 21 January – Thursday 12 February 2026. \nLondon launch:\nThis event on 18 February is a one off event to publicise the exhibition and the issues it raises\, and to let you how your local group can borrow it. \n\nCome along to find out why NHS SubCos have been so damaging to NHS staff.\nHear from our speakers about how SubCos may lead to even more privatisation of the NHS.\nMeet with other campaigners and see how your local group or branch can borrow the exhibition to raise the implications of SubCos locally.\n\nNHS Trusts are being pushed to set up subsidiary companies (SubCos) with the aim of saving money. A wide range of NHS staff and services\, along with NHS hospitals and other assets\, are being transferred from NHS Trusts to these private companies.   \nThis travelling photographic exhibition\, with its accompanying booklet based on extensive research\, details the serious concerns raised by the use of NHS SubCos. It also shows how some SubCos have been successfully resisted by unions’ and local campaigners’ action.  \nThe London launch of the exhibition will take place at St Anne’s Church\, 55 Dean St. Soho\,  London\, W1D 6AF on 18th February 2026\, 6.30 – 8.30 pm\, sponsored by  Keep Our NHS Public and Socialist Health Association. Refreshments provided. \nTickets:\nRegister now \nFurther info: Email nhssubcos@gmail.com \n\n* Featured image: Copyright Marion Macalpine.

SUMMARY:KONP Leeds | Exhibitions & meeting
DESCRIPTION:Exhibitions: How Come We Didn’t Know About SubCos? The growing use of NHS-owned PRIVATE Companies & Resisting NHS Charging: healthcare in the hostile environment Patients Not Passports \nWhen: Wednesday 21 January – Thursday 12 February 2026 \nGallery Opening Times:\nWednesdays 3-5pm\nThursdays 4:30-6:30pm\nFridays 1:30-4:30pm \nThere will also be an ‘Update & Where Next’ meeting: Wednesday 11 February 6:00pm – 7:30pm \nExhibition details: \nResisting NHS Charging: healthcare in the hostile environment Patients Not Passports\nThe exhibition celebrates the community resisting the presence of Borders in our healthcare system\, with photographs and stories that show the damaging impacts of NHS charges and make the case for why the policy should be abolished. Patients Not Passports – Organising to end to racist migrant charging policies within the NHS \nHow Come We Didn’t Know About SubCos?\nAn NHS wholly-owned subsidiary company (SubCo) is a private company\, set up by an NHS Foundation Trust or NHS Trust to which they can transfer support services and staff\, cutting costs by paying staff less. Plus associated equipment and property\, such as hospitals and land can be transferred out of the NHS to be managed on commercial lines rather than according to the ethos of the NHS. They are a ‘back door’ way of privatising the NHS and fragmenting its workforce. This exhibition demonstrates the significant extent of NHS public assets and workforce transferring to the private sector.

SUMMARY:The People’s Assembly Against Austerity | No to Austerity 2.0 National Demonstration
DESCRIPTION:ASSEMBLE 12PM\, BBC PORTLAND PLACE FOR MARCH TO WHITEHALL\nSee below for information on coaches to London on the day. \nAusterity is not an inevitability\, but a political choice. By spending money on arms rather than public services\, social security and our NHS\, this government is actively impoverishing us. This is why we will march from BBC Portland Place to Whitehall on June 7. We are calling on as many people as possible to join us.  \nMore information  \nJOIN THE NHS BLOC ON JUNE 7\nAssemble at 11:3oAM on Portland Place/Langham Place – keep an eye out for the NHS Banners! \nWe are calling on the government to listen to the public. The majority also stand with the tens of thousands of NHS staff whose jobs are now at risk. \nIt was a Labour government that founded the NHS in 1948: we cannot let a Labour government dismantle it in 2025. We need a strong\, united movement that can stand up for the NHS and its workers. Join the NHS bloc on the People’s Assembly National Demonstration. \nCoaches to the demonstration\nIf there isn’t a coach to London in your area and you’d like to organise one\, please get in touch. \n\nCambridge: BOOK YOUR PLACE HERE\nBirmingham: Leaving at 8:15AM from 47 Summer Lane\, B19 3TH.
