SUMMARY:SOS NHS NATIONAL DEMONSTRATION - Sat 11 March
DESCRIPTION:SOS NHS NATIONAL DEMONSTRATION\nSATURDAY 11 MARCH\nAssemble midday – Tottenham Court Road\, London NW1 3AA\nEuston End opposite Warren Street tube – then march to Westminster for rally. \nThe Government is quick to blame everyone but themselves for the NHS crisis. Health Secretary\, Steve Barclay told already exhausted NHS staff to work even harder if they want a pay rise! But it’s the Government that should be working harder fixing a crisis caused by 13 years of mismanagement. We stand with all NHS staff taking strike action to protect the service from further damage. Staff are the beating heart of the NHS; they were the frontline during the pandemic and they’re the front line in the fight to save our NHS now. We remember when our NHS was the best healthcare system in the world. But the current crisis is causing thousands of unnecessary deaths. We need a publicly run NHS that we know works – not a private healthcare model we know doesn’t. 11th March is a vital moment to demand the Government finds the resources and the political will to do what is needed not just to save our NHS for future generations but to stop unnecessary death and suffering. \nThe route:\nWalk south on Tottenham Ct Rd towards Warren St \nContinue onto Charing Cross Rd/A40 Continue to follow Charing Cross Rd \nSlight right to stay on Charing Cross Rd \nContinue onto St. Martin’s Place \nAt the roundabout\, take the 4th exit onto Whitehall \nSlight right to stay on Whitehall \nTurn right onto Great George St/Parliament Square \n \nClick here for more information including transport details \nDOWNLOAD THE FLYER HERE

SUMMARY:Manchester | NHS Pay Protest
DESCRIPTION:Via Greater Manchester Mental Health UNISON: \nNHS staff have been awarded a £1400 “pay rise” across all grades for 2022/3. This is below inflation. It will not even cover the expected increase in gas and electric bills. NEVER MIND the costs of all other essentials – which are also going up massively. \nOn Friday August 26th Ofgem will announce the new cap for gas and electric bills. It is expected to go up again massively. That is why we have chosen this day to protest above the appalling NHS pay award. \nJoin the protests from 2pm outside the entrances of: \n\nPark House (M8 5RB)\nMeadowbrook Mental Health Unit (M6 8HG)

This with the current inflation of 11.7% means we are getting a real terms pay cut of around 10%. This is the equivalent of working for over a month this year for free\, or not getting paid for your annual leave. Join us. \nMore information

SUMMARY:Leeds | NHS anniversary march and rally
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a march and rally on the anniversary of the founding of our NHS!  \nAssemble at 11:30 at Leeds Town Hall. March at noon. \nWe are marching for: \n\n An end to chronic underfunding of the NHS. If the annual funding increase hadn’t been cut from 3% to 1% since 2010 the NHS would be £35billion better off. There wouldn’t be six million people waiting for treatment\, a dire shortage of staff and up to date equipment and a huge backlog of building repairs \nSafe staffing levels. A 33% shortage of radiologists is delaying cancer diagnoses. A shortage of 2\,000 midwives & 5\,000 health visitors risks the health of mothers and babies. I in 7 vacant GP posts means grave illness goes undetected More beds. Being stuck in A&E waiting days for a bed is scary\, miserable and dangerous. We need parity with similar countries. The UK has 2.5 beds per 100\,000 population compared with France’s 5.8 and Germany’s 7.9\nInvestment in the NHS not private health. Stop the growth of a two tier health service based on ability to pay.\nA radical transformation of Social Care \nPay justice for health and care staff! \n\nFacebook: KONP Leeds\nTel: 07419 295754
