This weekend we are saying Happy Birthday to the NHS, while making it clear it deserves better.
The recent Covid19 crisis saw the NHS and its staff respond quickly to face the pandemic, but also exposed how inadequate funding and staffing is for the service.
Throughout the weekend Keep Our NHS Public is holding a number of events across the UK to demand better for the NHS on its 72nd birthday. Friday evening will see a vigil held to remember the health and care workers who died from Covid19 and local groups will hold events on Saturday and Sunday.
On Sunday evening at 3.30pm we will be holding an online rally streaming from our own Facebook page and our partners' social media platforms. We are proud to announce the following line up:
Dr Sonia Adesara, NHS doctor and member of Keep Our NHS Public
John Lister from Health Campaigns Together and secretary of Keep Our NHS Public
Laura Pidcock, former MP and National Secretary People’s Assembly
