Leeds | NHS anniversary march and rally

Join us for a march and rally on the anniversary of the founding of our NHS!
Assemble at 11:30 at Leeds Town Hall. March at noon.
We are marching for:
- An end to chronic underfunding of the NHS. If the annual funding increase hadn’t been cut from 3% to 1% since 2010 the NHS would be £35billion better off. There wouldn’t be six million people waiting for treatment, a dire shortage of staff and up to date equipment and a huge backlog of building repairs
- Safe staffing levels. A 33% shortage of radiologists is delaying cancer diagnoses. A shortage of 2,000 midwives & 5,000 health visitors risks the health of mothers and babies. I in 7 vacant GP posts means grave illness goes undetected More beds. Being stuck in A&E waiting days for a bed is scary, miserable and dangerous. We need parity with similar countries. The UK has 2.5 beds per 100,000 population compared with France’s 5.8 and Germany’s 7.9
- Investment in the NHS not private health. Stop the growth of a two tier health service based on ability to pay.
- A radical transformation of Social Care
- Pay justice for health and care staff!
