The exhibition celebrates the community resisting the presence of Borders in our healthcare system, with photographs and stories that show the damaging impacts of NHS charges and make the case for why the policy should be abolished. Patients Not Passports – Organising to end to racist migrant charging policies within the NHS
How Come We Didn’t Know About SubCos?
An NHS wholly-owned subsidiary company (SubCo) is a private company, set up by an NHS Foundation Trust or NHS Trust to which they can transfer support services and staff, cutting costs by paying staff less. Plus associated equipment and property, such as hospitals and land can be transferred out of the NHS to be managed on commercial lines rather than according to the ethos of the NHS. They are a ‘back door’ way of privatising the NHS and fragmenting its workforce. This exhibition demonstrates the significant extent of NHS public assets and workforce transferring to the private sector.
