NHS at a Crossroads
Despite Andy Burnham’s promises, very little has changed since his government came into power. The NHS crisis remains severe, impacting every level of society. Public health is crucial to a well-functioning society, but our health service has been neglected to the point of deterioration.
Meanwhile, defence spending has increased to the highest level since the Cold War, and migration is being blamed for our crumbling public services. Striking health workers are scapegoated, while private companies make huge profits leeching off our NHS.
Either we continue along this road to ruin, or introduce the changes desperately needed to address this crisis. Keep Our NHS Public is calling this one-day conference to bring NHS campaigners and activists from across the movement together, to push for a new direction for the NHS. We will cover a variety of topics including big tech, Palantir and AI, NHS funding, racism and the hostile environment, and more. Speakers include:
