Solidarity with Palestine

Keep Our NHS Public stands in solidarity with all Palestinians, amidst the genocide in Gaza, the attacks in the West Bank, and the Israeli occupation.

As NHS campaigners, we believe that healthcare is a human right. For many Palestinians in Gaza, access to healthcare services is no longer available as a result of Israel’s ongoing assault. We condemn Israel’s attacks on health workers and facilities  in Gaza, where only 17 of the 36 hospitals are able to provide any care at all and over 1500 health workers have been killed. Israel has all but destroyed Gaza’s health service. In addition there is now evidence of widespread starvation affecting the population, particularly the young and vulnerable.

We recognise our own government’s inaction around the genocide and its unwillingness to put pressure on the Israeli government despite the majority of people being in favour of this. At the same time, it is cracking down on those protesting against the genocide: it has proscribed the group Palestine Action and has taken leaders of the Palestine solidarity movement to court. The government’s moral outrage over songs and chants at Glastonbury music festival does not extend to the slaughter of Palestinians.
