Supporting affiliates

We invite organisations that are not directly involved in health campaigning, but which are struggling for social justice and a fairer society, to support our work by joining Keep Our NHS Public as a “Supporting affiliate” group. It doesn’t matter how large or small your organisation is, from a large national trade union to a small local campaign or the constituency branch of a political party.

Remember: if your organisation campaigns directly on NHS-related issues, or is a trade union representing NHS workers, it can join directly as a full affiliate. Full-affiliate groups can vote in elections for our national Executive Committee, and can attend meetings of the Steering Group and vote in decisions taken. Supporting affliates, in contrast, do not vote in Executive Committee elections or at Steering Group meetings, although they can send delegates to the Steering Group as observers. They receive a regular newsletter from Keep Our NHS Public and are considered valued friends and supporters of the organisation.

How to join up as a supporting affiliate group

Registering your organisation as a supporting affiliate of Keep Our NHS Public is simple, easy and affordable.

  • First, get agreement from the group to affiliate. (Click here to download a draft motion to take to trade union branches.)
  • Fill out this online form to apply.
  • Make payment of an annual affiliation fee. Fees are on a sliding scale depending on the size and means of your organisation; a small group can pay as little as £20 per year. More information on payments is given when you fill out the form in the previous bullet point.
