Challenging the Hostile Environment for Migrants in the NHS
March 11 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Event by Greater Manchester Keep Our NHS Public
The NHS as we know it is under threat. Hostile Environment immigration policies have eroded the universal founding principles of our health service, restricting access to care for migrants, introducing up-front charging, sharing patient data with the Home Office and denying care to hundreds of thousands of people.
Greater Manchester Keep Our NHS Public is campaigning for free access to the NHS for anyone in the country, regardless of immigration status, and against the use of the NHS as a tool for immigration control.
To launch our work on the #PatientsNotPassports campaign, we’re inviting you to TWO events. In this first event we’ll explore what Hostile Environment immigration policies are and the impact they have on migrants in the UK, how immigration controls exist in the NHS, what’s being done across the country to fight back against it.
This event is open to anyone who is interested in getting involved in the struggle for a truly universal NHS!
