Nottingham & Nottinghamshire KONP

Who we are

Nottingham & Nottinghamshire KONP is an active, campaigning group that has achieved crucial victories in the last few years. For example, we have:

  • Led the successful campaign to have multi-national Carillion sacked from their contract at the local hospital Trust shortly before they went bankrupt, and for all staff affected to then be brought back in-house.
  • Campaigned against the attempt by the infamous Circle Healthcare to extend their contract to run NHS services from the Nottingham Treatment Centre on the Queens Medical Centre campus. This will save the NHS tens of millions of pounds over the life of the new in-house contract and allow the Trust to rationalise the use of the buildin

Our current campaigns include:

  • Working to persuade the Nottingham University Hospital Trust to bring their public catering contract (ie. cafés, etc) at local hospitals back in-house.
  • Publicising the dangers of further privatisation in health services due to the Government-ordered Sustainability and Transformation Plan, now renamed as the Integrated Care Service.
