NHS Bill Meeting with MPs 28 June

There will be a meeting for MPs from all parties in Westminster at 5-6.30 p.m. on Tuesday 28th June which the Campaign for the NHS Reinstatement Bill is organising with Rachael Maskell, Labour MP for York Central. Campaigners are being asked to lobby their MPs to attend.

The meeting is intended to build support amongst MPs for re-tabling the Bill as a cross party Bill on 30th June (deadline for slots for non-ballot Private Members Bills), after the predictable and shameful filibustering into oblivion of Caroline Lucas’s honourable attempt to get her private members’ Bill through this Parliament. Shame on them: but we’re back!

Rachael has requested that (1) campaigners ask MPs to attend, and (2) “campaign leaders” are specifically invited, with an RSVP.

On (1), the ‘Write to them’ site  is a quick and easy way to do this:

https://www.writetothem.com/

On (2), please would anybody who would like to attend the meeting inform Alex Agombar (NHS Reinstatement Bill Campaign Organiser) of their wish to do so by 9 am on Wednesday 8th June. Alex will pass on the list to Rachael’s office and ask her to send out invites. The room capacity is 90.

Please lobby your MP on this – The NHS Bill will never become law until enough MPs are convinced it needs to. And that means educating many of them! Including Labour.
